Games for Change Festival is the largest annual industry-facing event for social impact games globally. Projects shown in the Immersive Arcade highlight the current state of the industry while also interrogating the global future of games and XR in education, health and wellness, civic engagement, environmental sustainability, and more.

Antipsychotic by Matt McCorkle

An interactive docu-music album designed to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness. This non-linear journey delves into the intricate mind of an individual with bipolar disorder, guided by sound artist, Matt McCorkle.

DEEP by Niki Smit & Owen Harris

Navigate through a serene and poetic underwater world. Movement is controlled by slow, deep diaphragmatic breathing which soothes and relieves anxiety in the player. Since 2016 researchers at the Games for Emotional and Mental Health Lab, Radboud University conducted several studies demonstrating the efficacy of DEEP as an anxiety regulation tool.  Research is now being expanded to hospitals and universities worldwide to explore how DEEP can support people with trauma, PTSD, neurological functional disorders, long COVID and youth in forensic care.

A full-body immersive experience that allows you to inhabit the body of another gender, where you can interact with your skin to discover stories and interviews of trans people.

Forager by Winslow Porter & Elie Zananiri

A mushroom is a door in the floor. Open it and discover nature’s greatest revelation: an endless underground network secretly feeding life to the world above. And yet, we know more about the surface of the moon than we do about mushrooms. What if we knew more? Using sight, sound, touch and scent, you will experience the complete life-cycle of fungi: spores, mycelium, fruiting body, and the inevitable decay.

The ORIXA Project by Reese Antoinette & MaryAnn Talavera

A mixed reality celebration of the narratives of the African Diaspora of the past, present, and future. Inspired by the Orishas & Black womxn, ORIXA incorporates virtual reality, 360 video, augmented reality, and volumetric capture technologies.
