Onassis ONX Fellow Application

Onassis ONX is accepting applications for fellowships from artists, researchers, writers, curators, and creative technologists making or thinking about art and advanced technologies at the frontiers of AI, XR, performance, spatial computing, gaming, and other emergent time-based media. Candidates will be expected to share outcomes of the work that they are seeking to advance during their fellowship period.

Candidates should be experienced practitioners with a history of successfully presenting work in a public forum or otherwise delivering programs in other institutional contexts. We are also open to candidates developing new artist tools or models for presenting installations and XR experiences, including new software and hardware platforms. Candidates are selected based on the strength of their practice, the conceptual rigor of their work, their meaningful use of technology, and the potential impact of their engagement with the greater Onassis ecosystem.

The Onassis ONX Fellowship program is ideally suited for individuals or small teams and is not an accelerator for commercial platforms. Core benefits include access to the Onassis ONX facilities and production resources, creative and technical consultation with Onassis ONX staff, and involvement in a broader community of creatives and thinkers. The fellowship does not include a stipend or direct funding, but there are occasional opportunities to apply for internal granting mechanisms or presentation opportunities.

Application reviews occur twice annually: on February 1 for fellowships starting on March 1 and on July 1 for fellowships starting on September 1.

COMMUNITY: Our platform for art and advanced technology is designed to support artists working across many mediums. The diversity of creative practices within our fellows and members is our great strength. We also serve as a hub for a growing network of institutional collaborators.

MENTORSHIP: Access to both technical and creative consultation from the Onassis ONX team and advisory committee
