Alejandro Moreno Jashés
Alejandro Moreno Jashés (1975) is a Chilean playwright, visual artist and filmmaker.
National Performing Arts Award 2024 (Chile).
He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Literatures at New York University, an MFA in Creative Writing (Spanish) from NYU, an MA in Spanish Philology from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and a BA in Arts and Theatre Studies from the University of Chile. Moreno taught from 2016 to 2021 a graduate workshop in Dramaturgy in the MFA in Creative Writing Program in Spanish at NYU.
Moreno’s work focuses on research into the multiple forms of voice that coexist in contemporary dramaturgy, developing experimental dialogues between technology and theater that move away from large-scale stage apparatus in favor of intimate, hybrid, and process-driven practices.
He lives and works between Caldera, Chile, and New York City.
