Star Catcher Playtest Weekend by Adelle Lin & Matt Pinner

Star Catcher Playtest Weekend by Adelle Lin & Matt Pinner

  • Artist Reception - March 31, 6-8PM

  • Open Studios - April 1-3, 12-6PM

A falling or a shooting star quickly crosses the sky. What kinds of wishes do we want to make for our ever changing environment? As a licensed Star Catcher, you’re invited to grab a net and reach up to catch stars in a simulated night sky. Star Catcher is an immersive participatory installation created with projections and magical objects, where the audience is performer and player.

As we reach exciting new frontiers of space exploration, Star Catcher asks us to imagine a new utopian world where people, environment, and technology are symbiotically aligned.

This is a “playtest” event where anyone can come experience a new work in progress, provide feedback, and enjoy a fun, whimsical group activity with friends.

This event is appropriate for all ages. Please bring anyone young (or young at heart). Trigger warning: animated lights, reactive sound, and periods of darkness will be employed to create the immersive environment. The space is accessible with a service elevator.

Adelle Lin & Matt Pinner are Experience Designers and Artists producing interactive, playful and thought-provoking works that span a range of media formats and technologies. These works question our impact on the environment and the world we want to create.
